christmas diary

Such a cute little Christmas tree! My mom has the best ornaments, they are all
silver and so beautiful. I got one for Christmas last year and I can't wait to get
a tree of my own next year in my cute apartment that has yet to be found.

Late night gift wrapping! It is my favorite thing to do during the holidays
as well as decorating the tree and house. I love trying out different things
when it comes to wrapping and this year we went with brown and red and
topped it with something sweet, a candy cane.

Ready for Christmas Eve, I decided to wear this gorgeous scarlet red
dress from Sugarlips since it's so festive. Added my favorit statement
belt for the finishing touch. Oh, and did you notice I cut my hair?

To me, Christmas is about spending time with your family and having
a memorable and loving time together but of course I have to show you
guys some of the presents that I got this year. I got a lot of things for the
home which is funny since I still live at home with my parents but I was
really happy with them since I am looking for an apartment in Reykjavík
and I can't wait to make it cozy with all the amazing things I got.

As the years go by one of my favorite things about Christmas is the food.
I get more excited over the food than the gifts unlike when I was younger.
This year was extra special since I had been away from home for such a long
time so getting traditional Icelandic Christmas food was unbelievable.

I haven't been the best blogger this month but that will all change in the next
year. I was so busy with the move that I got so lazy to attend to the blog and I
also got very uninspired. Now, after taking some time off to enjoy myself with
my family and just enjoying being home I find that the inspiration is slowly
coming back and I can't wait to start blogging in the new year. I am working
on some changes on the blog, so stay tuned in January for some fun things.

One thing that I wished for when we arrived home was that the ground would be
filled with white snow. But sadly, the day that we landed there hadn't snowed
at all that winter. But yesterday, it was the first day of snow and I was so happy
when I woke up and looked outside to see white grounds. I am wearing a winter
parka from 66° North (I also have a black one, a total must for cold weather) and
my cute beanie from Miamasvin, they are my new favorite winter accessory.

I can't believe that Christmas is over. It's by far my favorite holiday and this year they were
so much fun since I got to see my family after a long time away. To me this holiday is all
about family and since I have a pretty big family it is so nice to finally get a time where we
are all together and have a lovely evening together. Now that the holidays are almost over,
reality starts to kick in. We are currently looking at apartments and jobs in Reykjavík and it
is pretty exciting and scary at the same time. I got so many beautiful things for the home for
Christmas so it was like a little sign that maybe it's time for us to start our own home together
and I can't wait to find the perfect little cute apartment in downtown Reykjavík.

The next couple of days will be pretty hectic, there is a lot do sort out and get done but I am
so happy that I can finally share with you guys the outcome of my secret project that I have
been working on. You can see what it is on my Facebook page but I am going to share with
you some more photos and information here on the blog after the weekend. Hope you have
an amazing weekend/end of this year. Can't believe that 2013 is coming up..
